children's meetings for the up coming conference at Berrien Springs
Just spend some time visiting with the leader for the Juniors. I had picked out the topic of the Exodus but was wondering how she would like the subject. Was thrilled to find out that that was one of the topic her children would be studying next year in Home School so she had books and activities already age appropriate. There is so much interesting material about Egypt and its history. We will be studying that which will help us understand why God chose certain plagues. We will learn how the Egyptians and Israelites saw God's true character in comparison to the Egyptian gods.

Most of all we will find out that God wants to deliver us from our Egypt and how He is getting us ready for the trip to the ultimate Promised land.

Rainbow RE: children's meetings for the up coming conference at Berrien Springs
this is a post report on the Junior meeting at Berrien Springs. What a thrill to watch those Juniors who thought they knew all the Bible stories and were prepared to be bored (especially boys) finding themselves getting into the story of the Exodus and finding out so much they did not know!!! Perhaps there are things you did not know as well. Do you know why Jacabed put her baby boy in a basket on the Nile? Do you know why God chose rods changing into snakes as the first miracle? Do you know why the Nile was turned into blood?? Do you know the mercy in each plague?? Do you know the plagues could not be natural, even though these things did happen in their country? Can you explain? Who was God trying to save??? Rather than give you the answers you might want to do some research yourself. I dont want to spoil it for the next time I give this lesson. But the children did a wonderful job of making a clay figures of the land of Egypt to better understand the story. They learned about the gods of Egypt and life in Egypt then we compared it to our situation today. We are in Egypt and God is trying to get us ready for our Exodus.
It was a great way to get them thinking about the time ahead with courage and faith in the God who has promised to bring us through with victory.
Don't want to forget the Seder. We learned how the Jewish supper can relate also to our lives today.

Thank you to all the teachers and helpers who made our children's meetings a blessing. The younger children did the Sanctuary Redemption story. The teachers were helping pilot the materials I hope to get into a format that teachers can use and workbooks for the children to use in the future. The Sanctuary is such a wonderful way to visualize and learn how Jesus saves us. We did crafts of the furniture and curtains etc that were very durable and encouraged the children to take them home to share the story with their family and friends.
