Share Him.

SECOND QUARTER 2026
SABBATH SCHOOL INSIGHT #12
JUNE 20, 2026
"SHARE HIM".

Our Sabbath School lesson this week focuses on the importance of sharing Christ. An important question that we need to look at is: Why? What impact does it have on our lives as well as the lives of our families, church families, friends, neighbors and co-workers, and even those people we might meet in our daily travels.

Ellen White tells us that God is seeking to give us living in these last days of the latter rain double the original pouring out of the Holy Spirit so that His gospel may be carried to the ends of the earth!

The disciples did not ask for a blessing for themselves. They were weighted with the burden of souls. The gospel was to be carried to the ends of the earth, and they claimed the endowment of power that Christ had promised. Then it was that the Holy Spirit was poured out, and thousands were converted in a day.

So it may be now. Let Christians put away all dissension and give themselves to God for the saving of the lost. Let them ask in faith for the promised blessing, and it will come. The outpouring of the Spirit in the days of the apostles was “the former rain,” and glorious was the result. But the latter rain will be more abundant. What is the promise to those living in these last days? “Turn you to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope: even today do I declare that I will render double unto thee.” “Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so, the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.” Zechariah 9:12; 10:1.

Christ declared that the divine influence of the Spirit was to be with His followers unto the end. But the promise is not appreciated as it should be; and therefore, its fulfillment is not seen as it might be. The promise of the Spirit is a matter little thought of; and the result is only what might be expected—spiritual drought, spiritual darkness, spiritual declension and death. Minor matters occupy the attention, and the divine power which is necessary for the growth and prosperity of the church, and which would bring all other blessings in its train, is lacking, though offered in its infinite plenitude. —Testimonies, Vol. 8, pp. 21,22 (emphasis supplied here and onward).

A. T. Jones also emphasizes our need in this time of the latter rain to ask for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and when it comes to be willing to receive it!

Long ago God declared of this time—this time of the latter rain—that he would raise up “thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece.” And the context plainly shows that it is in the recognizing and receiving of the Holy Spirit in this very thing of the sovereignty and sole reign of his own Spirit in and over his church, that he will raise up “the sons of Zion against thy sons, O Greece.” Zechariah 9:12, 10:3. Thus will he sanctify and cleanse his Church; and thus, will he prepare his Church to meet him when he appears in his glory, so that he can indeed “present it to himself a glorious Church, not having spot, or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

And now is that time. Now is the time of the receiving of His Spirit in the latter rain. Now is the time to “ask of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain.” Therefore, let us now recognize the Holy Spirit. Let us ask for the Holy Spirit. Let us receive the Holy Spirit. Let us fully and freely own the sovereignty of his Holy Spirit in and over the Church and over all things to the church. Let us recognize the Church of Christ as indeed his body, and as indeed “the fullness of him that filleth all in all.” Let us seek and follow the guidance of this sovereign Spirit away from the shallow, petty, and vain things of Greece and Rome, and into the deep and exalted and exalting things of God. —Medical Missionary, April, 1906, pp. 163,164.

In Wednesday’s lesson, we talk about the concern of parents for their wandering child. Consider the following  where we see the Lord’s long suffering mercy for all of us should we sin:

No earthly parent ever pleaded so earnestly with an erring child as He who made us pleads with the transgressor. No human, loving interest ever followed the impenitent with invitations so tender.—Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the Church: Vol. 8, pg. 275.

In Thursday’s lesson, the thought that we have all had weak or wavering moments in our walk with God brings the recognition that we cannot overcome our sinful human nature through our own strength. InThe Desire of Ages, Sister Ellen recognizes this but thankfully reminds us that we have a seeking Savior, who reaches out to us up to our last breath while recognizing that we still have a choice:

Every soul is as fully known to Jesus as if he were the only one for whom the Saviour died. The distress of every one touches His heart. The cry for aid reaches His ear. He came to draw all men unto Himself. He bids them, “Follow Me,” and His Spirit moves upon their hearts to draw them to come to Him. Many refuse to be drawn. Jesus knows who they are. He also knows who gladly hear His call, and are ready to come under His pastoral care. He says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” He cares for each one as if there were not another on the face of the earth….

Through all our trials we have a never-failing Helper. He does not leave us alone to struggle with temptation, to battle with evil, and be finally crushed with burdens and sorrow. Though now He is hidden from mortal sight, the ear of faith can hear His voice saying, Fear not; I am with you. “I am He that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore.” Revelation 1:18. I have endured your sorrows, experienced your struggles, encountered your temptations. I know your tears; I also have wept. The griefs that lie too deep to be breathed into any human ear, I know. Think not that you are desolate and forsaken. Though your pain touch no responsive chord in any heart on earth, look unto Me, and live. “The mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. Isaiah 54:10.” —pp. 480,483.

Recognizing that God is truly on our side, she further elaborates in the following quotations:

The work will be similar to that of the day of Pentecost. As the “former rain” was given, in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the opening of the gospel, to cause the upspringing of the precious seed, so the “latter rain” will be given at its close, for the ripening of the harvest. “Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord; his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.” [Hosea 6:3.] “Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God; for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain.” [Joel 2:23.] “In the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh.” “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” [Acts 2:17, 21.] The great work of the gospel is not to close with less manifestation of the power of God than marked its opening. The prophecies which were fulfilled in the outpouring of the former rain at the opening of the gospel, are again to be fulfilled in the latter rain at its close. Here are “the times of refreshing” to which the apostle Peter looked forward when he said, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out [in the investigative Judgment], when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send Jesus.” [Acts 3:19, 20.]

Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from Heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be given. Miracles will be wrought, the sick will be healed, and signs and wonders will follow the believers. Satan also works with lying wonders, even bringing down fire from heaven in the sight of men. [Revelation 13:13.] Thus, the inhabitants of the earth will be brought to take their stand.

The message will be carried not so much by argument as by the deep conviction of the Spirit of God. The arguments have been presented. The seed has been sown, and now it will spring up and bear fruit. The Great Controversy, pp. 611-612.

Love is the basis of godliness. Whatever the profession, no man has pure love to God unless he has unselfish love for his brother. But we can never come into possession of this spirit by trying to love others. What is needed is the love of Christ in the heart. When self is merged in Christ, love springs forth spontaneously. The completeness of Christian character is attained when the impulse to help and bless others springs constantly from within—when the sunshine of heaven fills the heart and is revealed in the countenance.

It is not possible for the heart in which Christ abides to be destitute of love. If we love God because He first loved us, we shall love all for whom Christ died. We cannot come in touch with divinity without coming in touch with humanity; for in Him who sits upon the throne of the universe, divinity and humanity are combined. Connected with Christ, we are connected with our fellow men by the golden links of the chain of love. Then the pity and compassion of Christ will be manifest in our life. We shall not wait to have the needy and unfortunate brought to us. We shall not need to be entreated to feel for the woes of others. It will be as natural for us to minister to the needy and suffering as it was for Christ to go about doing good.

Wherever there is an impulse of love and sympathy, wherever the heart reaches out to bless and uplift others, there is revealed the working of God's Holy Spirit. In the depths of heathenism, men who have had no knowledge of the written law of God, who have never even heard the name of Christ, have been kind to His servants, protecting them at the risk of their own lives. Their acts show the working of a divine power. The Holy Spirit has implanted the grace of Christ in the heart of the savage, quickening his sympathies contrary to his nature, contrary to his education. The “Light which lighteth every man that cometh into the world” (John 1:9), is shining in his soul; and this light, if heeded, will guide his feet to the kingdom of God.Christ’s Object Lessons, pp. 384-385.

It is evident through our study this week that in these final days of Earth’s history we need to be relying totally on God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Ellen White shows the end time importance of the 1888 message given to God’s last day church --a most precious message for the purpose of uplifting Christ!

The Lord in His great mercy sent a most precious message to His people through Elders Waggoner and Jones. This message was to bring more prominently before the world the uplifted Saviour, the sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. It presented justification through faith in the Surety; it invited the people to receive the righteousness of Christ, which is made manifest in obedience to all the commandments of God. Many had lost sight of Jesus. They needed to have their eyes directed to His divine person, His merits, and His changeless love for the human family. All power is given into His hands, that He may dispense rich gifts unto men, imparting the priceless gift of His own righteousness to the helpless human agent. This is the message that God commanded to be given to the world. It is the third angel’s message, which is to be proclaimed with a loud voice, and attended with the outpouring of His Spirit in a large measure.—Ellen G. White, Testimonies to Ministers, pp. 91,92.

May we all take this message to heart and be willing to share Him whenever and wherever He provides the opportunity.

—Blessings, John Campbell
